Malschwitz, obersorbisch, è un luogo e il comune ad esso associato situato a circa sei chilometri a nord-est di Bautzen in Sassonia. Fa parte dell'area abitativa ufficiale dei Sorabi.
Il comune di Malschwitz si trova a nord della diga di Bautzen e a sud del paesaggio di brughiere e stagni di Oberlausitz. La caratteristica principale del paesaggio è l'estesa pianura dei fiumi Spree, Kleine Spree, Kotitzer Wasser e Löbauer Wasser. Qui si trovano diverse aree di stagni con canneti. Nella frazione di Kleinbautzen l'A 4 attraversa il territorio comunale. Questa è raggiungibile tramite il collegamento Bautzen-Ost. Attraverso il territorio comunale passa la B 156. Nella frazione di Lömischau, il Löbauer Wasser si immette a destra nella Spree.
