Auhagen è un comune nel distretto di Schaumburg in Bassa Sassonia. Il comune fa parte della comunità di Samtgemeinde Sachsenhagen ed è composto dalle frazioni di Auhagen e Düdinghausen.
I nomi precedenti di Auhagen furono nel 1382 Ouhaghen, 1505 Auhaghen, 1540 Awhagen e 1550 Awehagenn. L'elemento del nome "-hagen", contenuto in questo nome di luogo, appartiene al tedesco alto antico "hagan", al tedesco medio alto "hagen" ed è un'ulteriore evoluzione del tedesco alto antico "-hag", "-hac" o del tedesco medio alto "hag" per "recinto, terreno recintato, pascolo, siepe". "-hagen" può fare riferimento, nei nomi di luoghi, a uno spazio recintato, un distretto o un bosco recintato. La parte del nome del luogo "Au" deriva da "Aue" per "terra vicino all'acqua".
