Hammelburg è una cittadina nel distretto Bad Kissingen della Bassa Franconia. Si trova ai piedi della Rhön bavarese e lungo il fiume Saale francone. Hammelburg è conosciuta come la più antica città vinicola della Franconia ed è menzionata per la prima volta in documenti nel 716, il che la rende una delle 30 città più antiche della Germania.
