Nel 1922, due operai che avevano lavorato in un forno di mattoni nella regione della Ruhr, tornarono a casa su questa strada per celebrare il Natale. In questo luogo, uno di loro uccise l'altro e rubò il suo pacco stipendio. Anche il suo orologio e una serie di indumenti furono portati via. Pochi giorni dopo, il cadavere fu trovato durante una battuta di caccia. Dopo indagini in fabbrica, si scoprì chi fosse il possibile colpevole. Fu arrestato e, dopo un po', confessò. Il colpevole fu condannato a morte, pena che in seguito fu commutata in ergastolo. Il colpevole morì in prigione durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
