Il Dadau è un affluente di sinistra della Hunte. Nella maggior parte del suo corso superiore, forma il confine tra i distretti di Diepholz e Vechta, in un tratto del suo corso inferiore segna il confine tra la città di Diepholz e il comune di Barnstorf.
Il Dadau, lungo 16,6 km, ha origine nella palude di Diepholzer Moorniederung nella Torbiera di Südlohne, nel territorio della città di Lohne. Successivamente, scorre tra la Torbiera di Südlohne e la Torbiera di Brägeler a ovest e la Torbiera di Aschener a est, verso nord e piega all'incirca nel punto in cui il confine delle città di Lohne e Vechta si avvicina alla sua riva sinistra, deviando verso est. Dietro la strada federale 69, il Dadau scorre parzialmente verso est e parzialmente anche verso sud-est. Nell'ultimo tratto attraversa in tutta la sua ampiezza il territorio comunale di Drebber. Il Dadau sfocia a Cornau, una frazione di Drebber, a pochi metri a est della strada federale 51 nella Hunte. Quest'ultima scorre verso nord in direzione di Oldenburg. Tra la Hunte e il Dadau si trova Deckau, anch'essa una frazione di Drebber.
