È situato al termine della valle viticola del fiume Mandeo in una specie di penisola formata dai due fiumi Mandeo e Mendo che la circondano e confluiscono alla foce formando la ria de Betanzos. . Fa parte della provincia di La Coruña città principale della Galizia dalla quale dista 25 km. È dotata di piccolo porto fluviale sulla ria de Betanzos.
