La battaglia di Rhode fu una delle battaglie della rivolta del 197 a.C. dei popoli iberici contro la dominazione romana nel II secolo a.C.
La vittoria della repubblica romana su Cartagine nella seconda guerra punica lasciò la Hispania nelle mani romane. La trasformazione del territorio in provincia provocò importanti cambiamenti amministrativi e fiscali,[2] e l'imposizione dello stipendium non fu accettata dalle tribù locali che godevano ancora di una certa struttura politica e capacità di reazione,[3] in modo che nel 197 a.C., appena terminata la seconda guerra macedonica, scoppiò una grande rivolta in tutta l'area conquistata in Hispania a causa dello spolio repubblicano.
