La contea di Berga è stata una delle contee medievali della Catalogna, ed il suo territorio era governato da un conte.
Il suo territorio coincideva più o meno con quello della moderna comarca di Berguedà e parte della comarca di Bages.
L'espansione naturale durante la Riconquista l'ha portata molto presto, all'inizio del IX secolo, oltre la barriera montuosa del Cadí, della Tosa d'Alp, della Puigllançada e del Mogrony.
Nel 1035 era ancora una terra di confine con i musulmani.
