Il forte, noto come Hins Ashar o Castello di Ashar , è una struttura islamica dell'VIII secolo .
Ha una pianta triangolare, tronca sul lato nord-est con il lato lungo rivolto a sud, e un ampio spazio centrale. È circondato da un recinto fiancheggiato da torri agli angoli sud-est e sud-ovest. Il lato est è coronato da un edificio rettangolare che si collega al lato ovest con una torre pentagonale davanti e un'altra torre a est.
L' originario ingresso al castello era sul lato est attraverso un edificio addossato alla primitiva torre rettangolare.
La fortezza è caduta in rovina nel tempo. Questo declino si ampliò nel XVIII secolo , quando il castello fu trasformato nella residenza del custode del Duca di Sesa. L'adattamento in residenza comportò una vera e propria distruzione del castello: gli abitanti non esitarono a rompere il parapetto per raggiungere il giardino.
