Un meraviglioso esempio di arte gotica del XIII secolo.
La cattedrale fu costruita grazie principalmente al contributo dei "waidiers", i tintori di Amiens del Medioevo. Essi guadagnarono fortune con la "guesde", una pianta tintoria da cui è nato il famoso Blu di Amiens. Una scultura raffigura questi "waldiers" sulla facciata sud della cattedrale (rue Commont).
