Trefcon è un comune francese di 83 abitanti situato nel dipartimento dell'Aisne della regione dell'Alta Francia.Dopo la battaglia delle Frontiere dal 7 al 24 agosto 1914, di fronte alle perdite subite, lo stato maggiore francese decise di ritirarsi dal Belgio. Il 28 agosto 1914, i tedeschi occuparono il villaggio e proseguirono la loro via verso ovest . Da allora ebbe inizio l'occupazione che durò fino all'ottobre 1918. Durante tutto questo periodo, Trefcon rimase lontano dai combattimenti, formatosi il fronte a una ventina di chilometri a ovest, verso Péronne. Il villaggio funse da base arretrata per l'esercito tedesco.
