La battaglia di Crécy, uno dei fatti d’armi più importanti della guerra dei cent'anni, ebbe luogo il 26 agosto 1346 nella Francia settentrionale tra l’esercito francese comandato da Filippo VI e un esercito inglese guidato da Edoardo III. I francesi attaccarono gli inglesi mentre questi stavano attraversando la Francia settentrionale: la battaglia si risolse in una vittoria inglese con pesanti perdite di vite umane tra i francesi.
