Il musée des Beaux-Arts di Lione è il principale museo della città ed uno dei più importanti del paese. Aperto dal 1801 - uno dei primi dopo il Louvre, il museo presenta collezioni di pittura, scultura, arte antica , oggetti d'arte, medaglie e monete, disegni e stampe. Occupa l'antico palais Saint-Pierre , un ex convento del Seicento-Settecento al centro della città, sulla place des Terreaux. Perciò certe sale del museo hanno ancora la decorazione d'origine, come il refettorio barocco o la cappella.
