È uno dei 56 campanili in Belgio e Francia che sono stati dichiarati patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. Il campanile è una sobria creazione alta cinquantaquattro metri, con sopra un Leone fiammingo. Ogni lunedì, il carillon di cinquanta campane diffonde le sue melodie sulla piazza e sulla città ai piedi della torre. Sebbene il campanile a prima vista sembri un bellissimo edificio gotico, a un'osservazione più attenta appare avere un’impressione molto recente, e non è così strano dato che ha poco più di quaranta anni. Questo edificio, come molti altri in questa zona, è stato distrutto e ricostruito solo nel 1961 in una versione più semplice. Nella nostalgica ode "A Sint-Winoksbergen" e la sua "Groenberg", il poeta fiammingo Bert Peleman celebra la "mirabile resurrezione" del campanile come simbolo del ricco e glorioso passato di Sint-Winoksbergen.
