La città di Pau acquistò il parco dalla famiglia della contessa Anna de Noailles per la somma di 800.000 franchi dell'epoca. Nel 1898, Henri Martinet, architetto paesaggista, lo ridisegnò in stile inglese. Dai suoi sentieri che convergono verso la tribuna della banda al suo lago di cipressi calvi, il Beaumont Park ospita bellissimi alberi, molti dei quali hanno più di cento anni: sequoie sempreverdi della California, cedri dell'Himalaya, araucarie dell'Argentina e del Cile, alberi di Giuda, ippocastani dei Balcani e magnolie. Bucolico, il giardino pirenaico ricorda la montagna, le sue rocce, le sue piante perenni, i suoi ruscelli. Nelle vicinanze, sul versante meridionale, il Théâtre de Verdure ospita spettacoli in estate.
