Il Musée d'art et d'histoire de Lisieux è il risultato della fusione di due musei: uno di belle arti e uno di storia. Il primo è apparso molto presto nella storia dei musei francesi, nel 1833, grazie a François Guizot; il secondo, il Musée du Vieux Lisieux, è stato creato nel 1930. Visitare il Museo oggi significa scoprire le ricche collezioni sulla storia di Lisieux, dalla città gallo-romana alla città a graticcio scomparsa durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Significa anche immergersi nelle opere di artisti famosi come Eugène Boudin e Gustave Courbet, ma anche di artisti locali che ritraggono il paesaggio della Normandia. Oppure ammirare le eccezionali ceramiche decorative del Pré d'Auge.
