A Maxey sur Vaise ci sono due lavatoi. Il primo, costruito vicino alle sorgenti della Vaise, è dotato di piani mobili ed è una vetrina del know-how delle fonderie Tusey di Vaucouleurs. Infatti, tre piani mobili sono azionati da un sistema a cremagliera sostenuto da due eleganti colonne scanalate in ghisa con doppi capitelli corinzi. Questo ingegnoso sistema permetteva di regolare l'altezza dei pavimenti in base al livello dell'acqua. Se si cammina lungo il fiume Vaise, che attraversa il villaggio, si può vedere un secondo lavatoio all'uscita del paese.
