Se il nome ufficiale di Immerhof deriva dalla fattoria vicina, il suo soprannome di Tiburce deriva dall'omonimo santo, un riferimento concesso dai suoi occupanti nel 1940. La missione primaria di questa P.O. (piccola opera) era quella di proteggere la linea ferroviaria che collegava Thionville a Lussemburgo. Al minimo pericolo apparente, la torretta era impostata per sparare contro la minaccia. Nei suoi 250 metri di galleria, ci sono veri e propri spazi abitativi su due piani, ancora in perfetto stato di conservazione.
