Questo bacino intramontano ad un'altitudine di 900-950 m è un paesaggio curioso nella zona montuosa di Lefkada. È chiamato il plateau di Englouvi. Forma anche il valico montano tra est e ovest. Ma a differenza di molti valichi montani che ti portano dall'ascesa alla discesa, qui rimani per alcuni chilometri ad un'altitudine quasi costante. I suoli sono spessi e composti di fertile argilla rossa derivante dal materiale di decomposizione delle rocce calcaree circostanti. Queste terre ad alta quota sono quindi intensamente utilizzate per l'agricoltura. Tradizionalmente, qui si coltivava il grano. Questo ha anche un legame con il unico complesso di trebbiatura di Agios Donatos.
