Nel 2015 la frazione di Mirto Crosia si aggiudica la Bandiera Blu delle Spiagge, l'autorevole riconoscimento europeo assegnato dalla FEE.
Erroneamente viene conosciuta con il nome della frazione "Mirto", dovuto al fatto che la popolosa frazione sviluppatasi sul litorale, nel corso degli anni ha provocato un decentramento e lo spopolamento del centro storico per via dell'assenza dei più essenziali servizi.
