Solofra è un comune italiano di 12 006 abitanti della provincia di Avellino in Campania. Fa parte dei comuni situati nella valle dell'Irno, benché in realtà il suo territorio appartenga al bacino idrografico del Sarno.
Solofra si estende in una conca dei Monti Picentini aperta, attraverso Montoro, sulla piana di Mercato San Severino, un vitale nodo della Pianura campana che fa da collegamento tra il bacino dell'Irno e quello del Sarno. Questa posizione geografica ha giovato alla cittadina favorendone la realtà economica.
