Il territorio comunale si sviluppa nella Valdinievole meridionale e comprende, nella sua area sud-orientale, gran parte della zona umida del Padule di Fucecchio con i vari corsi d'acqua, come il Pescia di Pescia , i quali vi scorrono nel loro tratto finale prima di confluire nella palude, da cui usciranno attraverso l'Usciana, affluente dell'Arno. La totalità del territorio è pianeggiante e soggetta a urbanizzazione crescente, mentre le aree coltivate si dividono tra colture cerealicole e vivaistiche, con queste ultime diffuse negli ultimi decenni da operatori attivi nella zona di Pistoia.
