Carmagnola è un comune italiano di 28 163 abitanti della città metropolitana di Torino in Piemonte, situato a circa 30 chilometri a sud del capoluogo.
Carmagnola si trova sulla destra del Po, in un tratto di terra pianeggiante prima che il fiume devii verso nord per superare la "stretta" costituita dalla collina di Superga. Le acque del territorio comunale sono convogliate nel Po dal torrente Meletta e dal rio Stellone, un affluente del Banna. La natura del terreno ha determinato nel tempo l'accumulo di sabbie del fiume che in quel tratto rilascia i sedimenti strappati nel corso montano.
