Bagnacavallo è un comune italiano di 16 283 abitanti della provincia di Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna.
Nell'Alto Medioevo, Bagnacavallo era detta castrum Tiberiacum . Il castrum aveva una funzione strategica: faceva parte della linea difensiva realizzata dai bizantini a difesa del confine con il territorio dei Longobardi. Insieme a Bagnacavallo, anche i vicini centri altomedievali di San Potito, San Biagio e Villa Cornete, hanno la stessa origine.
