La battaglia di Magenta è un episodio della seconda guerra di indipendenza italiana. Fu combattuta il 4 giugno 1859 a Magenta, fra l'Impero austriaco e la Francia. Alla battaglia parteciparono, anche se non direttamente, alcune unità del Regno di Sardegna, alleato della Francia.
Fu la prima delle due grandi battaglie, assieme a quella di Solferino e San Martino, che porteranno i franco-piemontesi alla vittoria finale. Effetto della vittoria alleata fu infatti la liberazione di Milano, uno degli episodi principali del processo di unificazione italiana.
