La battaglia di Lonato fu combattuta il 3 e il 4 agosto 1796 tra l'esercito francese del generale Napoleone Bonaparte e un corpo d'armata tipo colonna austriaca guidata dal feldmaresciallo Peter Vitus von Quosdanovich.
Una settimana di aspre azioni che ebbe inizio il 29 luglio e si concluse il 4 agosto, portando al ritiro le forze del Quasdanovich. L'eliminazione della minaccia Quasdanovich ha permesso a Napoleone di concentrare le forze e sconfiggere il grosso dell'esercito austriaco alla battaglia di Castiglione del 5 agosto.
