Mechelen è un villaggio olandese nel Sud-Limburgo. Fa parte del comune di Gulpen-Wittem. Nel 2021, Mechelen e dintorni contavano circa 1.785 abitanti. Nel 1133 appare il nome de Mechluns, nel XIV secolo Mechlen, nel 1842 Mechelen e dovrebbe derivare dal germanico *magalunas che significa "presso il grande, potente luogo" e prende il nome dal bosco di Malens.
