Hai sempre pensato che le foreste più grandi si trovassero nella Veluwe? No, infatti, qui nella Flevopolder vicino a Zeewolde si trova Het Horsterwold, la più grande foresta decidua dei Paesi Bassi. È stata piantata nel terreno argilloso e questo si fa sentire soprattutto nei giorni di pioggia. Assicurati di indossare scarpe adatte! E porta con te la tua macchina fotografica, noi abbiamo visto delle capita in diversi posti. La foresta si affaccia anche sul Nuldernauw (l'acqua tra la polder e la Veluwe). L'intenzione è di creare isole nell'acqua che funzionino da 'stepping stones' nella connessione ecologica tra Veluwe e Oostvaarders Plassen.
