Per molto tempo, l'area ha avuto una sua propria associazione di agricoltori. La frazione di Notter è composta da Notter, Grimberg, Grimbergerveld, Nottermors, Notterveld e Eversberg. Il comune di Wierden ha venduto gran parte del territorio di Notter al comune vicino di Hellendoorn per l'espansione di Nijverdal.
