Questa pietra commemorativa ricorda il luogo dove il paracadutista americano Joe Mann cadde il 19 settembre 1944. Salvò la vita dei suoi compagni durante la conquista del canale Wilhelmina. Eroicamente, assorbì l'esplosione di una granata gettandosi sopra di essa con il suo corpo. Per questo atto, ricevette postumo la più alta onorificenza americana: la 'Medal of Honor'.
