Gjøvik è un comune e una città della contea di Innlandet in Norvegia. Ha ricevuto lo status di città nel 1861.
Per molti secoli Gjøvik non fu altro che una fattoria dell'antico comune di Vardal che nel XIX secolo riuniva gran parte dei villaggi della zona. La città crebbe grazie a una vetreria costruita nel 1807 e nel 1861 si costituì comune autonomo ricevendo lo status di città. Nel 1902 venne terminata la ferrovia che collegava la città a Oslo. Attualmente è un importante centro agricolo e industriale.
