Il Museo del Costume Tradizionale è ospitato dal 2004 nell'ex edificio della Banca del Portogallo , proprio nel centro storico. Qui, i visitatori possono scoprire la ricchezza etnografica dei costumi tradizionali di Viana do Castelo.
La collezione del museo comprende anche utensili utilizzati nella produzione degli abiti . Inoltre, ci sono le mostre permanenti "Lana e lino nei costumi della regione dell'Alto Minho", "Costumi tipici di Viana" e "Arte orafa".
Il Museu do Traje organizza anche numerose mostre temporanee sul tema dei costumi tradizionali e dell'etnografia di Viana do Castelo.
