Tirana is een van de 12 prefecturen van Albanië en ligt in het westen van het land. De prefectuur heeft als hoofdstad de stad Tirana.
Tirana is de grootste prefectuur qua inwoners. Volgens de volkstelling van 2011 wonen er zo'n 749.365 mensen in de prefectuur Tirana: dat is meer dan een kwart van de bevolking van Albanië. In tegenstelling tot de rest van Albanië groeit de bevolking van de prefectuur in een rap tempo. In 1989 woonden er nog 449.228 mensen in de prefectuur Tirana.
