Wingene is een plaats en gemeente in de Belgische provincie West-Vlaanderen. De gemeente telt ruim 14.000 inwoners. De inwoners worden Wingenaars genoemd en hun dialect is het Wingens, een variant van het West-Vlaams. Wingene staat bekend om zijn vele aantal varkenskwekerijen, naast andere landbouwactiviteiten. Ook de varkenspest bracht Wingene in 1990 in het wereldnieuws.
