Deze hertboommolen werd bekend vanaf de jaren 1960 omdat hij als vast decorobject diende voor het jeugdfeuilleton 'Kapitein Zeppos'.
In 2000 werd de molen volledig gedemonteerd en in 2002 werd de molen opnieuw 'maalvaardig'. Naast de molen bevindt zich het Hertboommolenmusuem.
