Asiadok ( haaks op Houtdok en evenwijdig met Kempischdok) grotendeels voltooid in 1871; vergroting in noordelijke richting van 1888; in 1955-60 met het Straatsburgdok verbonden. Aanvankelijk zogenaamd "Vaartdok" omdat hier, ter hoogte van de huidige IJzerlaan de Kempische Vaart uitmondde, via sluis nummer 17 (1873) die in 1935 werd gedempt (zie ook Kattendijkdok). Het Asiadok ontving hout in het noorddeel. Aan zuid- en westkaai met steenkooloverslag werkten van 1877 tot 1886 de zes enige stedelijke stoomkranen op sporen, mislukt experiment door veelvuldige sabotage.
