De Berendries werd voor het eerst opgenomen in de Ronde van Vlaanderen in 1984 en zal in 2010 voor de 26ste keer woden beklommen. De klim bestaat van start tot finish uit asfalt en heeft een maximum stijgingspercentage van 14%. Daarmee is het één van de leukste beklimmingen uit de Vlaamse Ardennen, zeker voor zij die niet van asfalt houden.
De Berendries ligt in Oost-Vlaanderen en maakt deel uit van de Vlaamse Ardennen . Vanaf Sint-Maria-Oudenhove is de Berendries 0.9 km lang. Over deze afstand overbrug je 65 hoogtemeters. Het gemiddelde stijgingspercentage van de klim is bijgevolg 7.2 %. De maximale hellingsgraad is 14 %.
