Hamme is een gemeente in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen. De gemeente telde op 1 januari 2018 in totaal 24.829 inwoners, die Hammenaars worden genoemd.
Hamme ligt aan de monding van de Durme in de Beneden-Schelde en heeft een nagenoeg vlak landschap . De Mirabrug, een in 2003 gerenoveerde draaibrug, kreeg haar naam van de film Mira uit 1971 van Fons Rademakers naar het boek van Stijn Streuvels uit 1927: De Teleurgang van de Waterhoek.
