De oudste delen van de kerk zijn de zware vierkante toren en het noordelijke deel van de linkerbeuk. De toren kreeg zijn specifieke spits in 1815. Het classicistische westportaal is in 1838 overgebracht uit de abdij van Affligem, waarvan de kerk sinds de eerste helft van de 12de eeuw afhankelijk was.
Op 25 juni 1969 stortte een deel van het gewelf in; de restauratie werd in 1990 beëindigd.
Zeer waardevol zijn het vast meubilair o.a. biechtstoelen en beschotten, de preekstoel, het orgel, de glasramen, de talrijke kunstvoorwerpen en -schatten, versierselen en schilderijen die tot het patrimonium behoren van de aan O-L-Vrouw-ter-Noodt toegewijde kerk.
