Grammene is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen en een deelgemeente van Deinze. Het is een landelijk dorp aan de Leie en de Oude Mandel, in Zandlemig Vlaanderen.Grammene werd voor het eerst vermeld in 1121, als Grimmine, wat zoiets als grimmig zou betekenen. De heerlijkheid Grammene behoorde in de 12e en 13e eeuw toe aan de familie Grammina; in de 14e eeuw Van Schuurvelde; eind 14e eeuw De Tolenaare; van 2e helft 15e tot 1e helft 17e eeuw De Beer; Vanden Heede en de baronnen van Poeke in de 18e eeuw.
