De kasteelhoeve van Fernelmont is een grote vierhoek die omringd wordt door brede slotgrachten.
Uit de middeleeuwen blijft enkel het imposante slottoren-portaal uit ongeveer 1300 over. Het gaat om een kalkstenen massief met daarin een gewelfd middenportaal dat aan de hoeken gesierd wordt door twee halfronde, vooruitspringende delen.
De binneninrichting van deze slottoren behield zijn uitstekende infrastructuur van latrines, alkoven, muurgootstenen, vensters met vensterbanken, twee schoorstenen en vooral een interessante vloer van kleine tegels in gelakt terracotta.
De rest van het kasteel, in baksteen, dateert uit de 16de eeuw, en de Toscaanse galerij uit 1621.
Sinds 1986 blaast een organisatie het nieuw leven in.
