"Natal" betekent "geboorte". Het kunstwerk bestaat uit een figuur met twee koppen. Uit de heup steekt nog een derde kop. Het 5 meter hoge beeldhouwwerk prijkt op de Waalvest sedert 2004. De plaats is symbolisch tussen het cultureel centrum en het stadsmuseum.
Tahon werd in 1965 geboren te Menen en doorliep eerst hier de plaatselijk academie. Daarna volgde hij een opleiding beeldhouwkunst aan de Koninklijke Academie in Gent. Ondertussen geniet hij internationale bekendheid.
