Het Plaisiersbos in Veldegem is een jong ontginningsgebied dat tot voor een paar eeuwen enkel bestond uit woeste, onbewerkte grond. Het dankt zijn naam aan een voormalige opzichter, August Plaisier. Het bos is 22 ha groot, biedt mooie wandelpaden en is ingericht met een speelzone.
Tips
Vanaf de Bergenstraat kun je een bewegwijzerde wandellus volgen in het bos.

Het Krakkepad is een 8 km lange natuur- en cultuurhistorische wandeling door Veldegem. Het pad bestaat reeds sinds de jaren ’70 en werd in 2013 door verschillende initiatiefnemers opgefrist. De wandeling passeert o.a. door het Plaisiersbos.
