Handewitt is een gemeente in de Duitse deelstaat Sleeswijk-Holstein, en maakt deel uit van de Kreis Sleeswijk-Flensburg.
Handewitt telt 11.150 inwoners.
De huidige gemeente Handewitt ontstond per 1 maart 2008 uit de fusie van de voormalige gemeente Handewitt met de toenmalige gemeente Jarplund-Weding. Tot die fusie vormden beide gemeenten samen het toenmalige Amt Handewitt. De nieuwe gemeente is Amtvrij.
