Neesen is een stadsdeel van de stad Porta Westfalica in de gemeente Minden-Lübbecke in het oostwestfaalse deel van Noordrijn-Westfalen. Het heeft 2280 inwoners en ligt aan de rechteroever van de Weser tussen Porta Westfalica en de hoofdplaats Minden.
Neesen was een klein boerendorp dat vroeger Nisinun heette, wat zoveel betekent als "nat" of "water". Het lag aan de enige weg aan de rechteroever van de Weser tussen Minden en het Wesergebergte. In dit moerassige gebied liep deze weg direct langs de oever en bood daar de mogelijkheid om naast een vlotplaats een schepradmolen aan te leggen.
