DISTRICT VAN DE VILLAS VAN BRAY-DUNES
Aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw raakten stranden en zeebaden in de mode. Goed bereikbaar per trein, verwelkomt Bray-Dunes dan ook heel natuurlijk de eerste "toeristen" van de "goede maatschappij" van Tourcoing en Roubaix. In het hart van een uitzonderlijke omgeving zijn hotels en villa's (waaronder "Suzon", "Hortensia", "Theresa" en "Marguerite") gevestigd en zorgen zij voor de zeebeaande ontwikkeling van de stad.
Geconfronteerd met dit enthousiasme werd in 1912 een vennootschap onder naam "la Plage de Bray-Dunes" opgericht, bedoeld om de kustsector te promoten. Vervolgens zal in 1928 een vastgoedvennootschap de eerste "turnkey" villa's verkopen.
