Het paleis van de graven van Poitou/hertogen van Aquitanië in Poitiers in Poitou in het westen van Frankrijk is een middeleeuws getuigenis van de Plantagenet-architectuur. Het voormalige Merovingische koninkrijk Aquitanië werd hersteld door Karel de Grote voor zijn zoon Lodewijk de Vrome; in de 9e eeuw werd er een paleis voor hem gebouwd of herbouwd, een van de velen, boven een Romeinse muur die dateert uit de late 3e eeuw, op het hoogste punt van de stad. Lodewijk verbleef daar vele malen als koning en keerde terug naar het paleis na zijn keizerschap, in 839 en 840. Het palatium werd specifiek een paleis genoemd tijdens het bewind van Karel de Kale. Na de ontbinding van het Karolingische rijk werd het paleis de zetel van de graven van Poitiers. Het eerste paleis van Poitiers werd volledig verwoest door een brand in 1018.
