Het Regionale Natuurpark Marais Poitevin ligt in de Franse regio's Pays de la Loire en Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Het strekt zich uit over de departementen Vendée, Charente-Maritime en Deux-Sèvres en heeft een west-oost-uitbreiding van meer dan 80 kilometer. In het westen van het natuurpark grenst direct aan de Atlantische kust het zee-natuurpark Estuaire de la Gironde et Mer des Pertuis.
