Montesquiou was de bakermat van de adellijke en oude familie van Montesquiou, waaruit de Montesquiou-d'Artagnan en Montesquiou-Monluc stammen, twee grote families waaruit vele oorlogspersonages afstamden zoals Blaise Monluc, Maarschalk van Frankrijk en een groot dagboekschrijver van zijn periode, moeder van D'Artagnan, het kindermeisje van Napoleon, de hertog van Montesquiou, minister van Lodewijk de 18e en Robert Montesquiou, dichter, dandy voor de Heer, die Monsieur de Charlus van Proust wordt.
