Op slechts 10 km van Saint-Jean-de-Luz brengt deze authentieke tandradbaan uit 1924 je 905 meter omhoog naar de legendarische top van Frans Baskenland. Vanaf hier kun je de Franse en Spaanse kust zien en de Pyreneeën zover het oog reikt.
De klim duurt 35 minuten en de trein rijdt 9 km/u. Op de top kun je gedurende een uur en 20 minuten de Pottok ontdekken, robuuste kleine Baskische pony's die in alle vrijheid leven, Manech ooien en vale gieren, de emblematische roofvogels van de Pyreneeën. Reserveren sterk aanbevolen.
